Many, many thanks to Mme. Magali BOUTIOT from the French Consulate in Boston who presented an very informational program today to our students on the importance and advantages of developing their second language skills.
Mme. Boutiot encouraged them to continue with their language study, even after they leave WBMSH. She cited a number of French companies present in the US that seek out bilingual job applicants, especially in the engineering and aerospace sectors. as well as a number of US companies that also seek bilingual employees. Also discussed were the number of US government agencies, such as the FBI and CIA, that are constantly looking for bilingual employees and contractors. Further, she emphasized that French is still an essential and viable language in many important multinational organizations and businesses such as the Red Cross, UN, NATO, African Union, European Commission, Doctors Without Borders, World Health Organization, etc.
After her presentation, Mme. Boutiot stayed to have lunch with our French Honors Society members during which they practiced their French to discuss their future goals and ask further questions. We are very grateful to Mme. Boutiot for the passion she shared for learning and the encouragement she offered for students to realize their full potential.
Merci mille fois pour le visite!
